My beloved mumma bear is currently having chemotherapy for the second time. This is her fourth time with breast cancer and I admire her strength like nothing else. She has been a lifetime example to me of the power of positivity.
The chemo can really take it out of her, so on Sunday I spent the afternoon with her - chatting over a cuppa and making her dinner. My brother chimed in occasionally with his silly dance moves (it runs in the family) and it was a beautiful afternoon of jokes, story telling and fact sharing (mum knows the word for seagull in French, Spanish and Mexican-Spanish).
My full attention was with her and it was heavenly.
I think there's really something to be said for quality time without distractions. I believe it's where memories are made and it's these everyday moments that we look back on fondly.
How would you rate the time you spend with your loved ones - it is with your undivided attention or are you guilty of social media checking (I'm definitely not perfect)? How do you really want things to be - and what action do you need to take?
Leave a comment below, cute face!
